If I wasn’t too chicken, I’d do the same thing here – people are always parking in bike lanes, and then they honk at you when you ride around them! Ridiculous.
Mike and I got pulled over by CHP for running a red light on our bikes. It was a completely, absolutely safe red light to run, though – no traffic, and nowhere for cars to cross our path, we were in the bike lane, too. The CHP officer said that “you can see why drivers get upset with cyclists when they disobey the traffic laws.” I almost swallowed my arm. Wasn’t worth getting arrested for arguing with the guy, but I was stunned when he said that.

This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen for ages. That guy has stones for riding his bike smack into a cop car. Love it.

Agreed. And it illustrates his point so beautifully. He doesn’t even cringe before impact! He’s in shorts! No Helmet! Beach cruiser! What a legend.
