I must say this trail, which is really called Saxon Creek Trail, starts at the Tahoe Rim Trail at Big Meadow or at Grass Lake off of Hwy 89, we started at Grass Lake. It begins as a pretty impressive climb for about three miles and an altitude gain of about 1000 feet, with a starting elevation of about 7700′. From there it is about nine mile descent to the bottom of granite rocks, tight berms, a few step downs and even a staircase. The best option is to drop off riders at the top and park down at a parking lot in Meyers or if you want to park close to the end of the trail, it is right off of Pioneer Trail Rd on Oneidas Rd. If you are in Tahoe for the weekend riding, do your long trail ride on Saturday and follow it up with Mr. Toad’s on Sunday. It is an awesome trail.
