I shot with the GoPro on my handlebars/seatpost at the velodrome a couple of weeks ago, great camera but too bulky and heavy for helmet use in my opinion.The one I've got on there is the ContourHD, its much lighter and benefits from a swivelling lens for added flexibility, but i've had a lot of problems with it silhouetting footage whenever there's too much sky in the picture, which is very annoying.
